It’s the middle of November, and that means the holiday coffee season is in full swing! And, you may have noticed that this email is now coming from Substack. I will now be writing these updates on here and will be adding some new exciting features. More on that below.
First, this Thursday, November 16, is Starbucks’ “Red Cup Day.” That’s the day you can get a free reusable red cup with a purchase of a seasonal hand-crafted beverage. It’s a popular event, so get there early, before they run out of cups.
A few things to know:
Last year, drinks you could order included all holiday-featured drinks as well as fall-featured drinks. I assume it will be the same this year. If in doubt, ask your barista.
This does not include drip coffee or plain teas. It has to be something the barista is “crafting.”
Any size drink is included per Starbucks corporate marketing, although some stores think differently. A few years ago I ordered a tall holiday beverage and the Starbucks store said that it didn’t qualify and I’m still slightly bitter about it.
Many people take this event very seriously, so be sure to go early in the day if you want to make sure you receive a cup.
And check out my article on everything going on at Starbucks for their holiday food and drinks.
Next up, Dutch Bros December stickers. I have confirmed that Dutch Bros will be dropping three stickers during the month of December, all holiday-themed. The stickers will be available, all on Wednesdays, December 6, 13, and 20.
The first sticker is a cute hippo on skis.
If you are heading to Dutch Bros soon, check out my article on what Dutch Bros is currently doing for the holiday season.

COMING SOON
The reason I switched to Substack is so I can provide more amazing content tailored just to you! Starting in December, I will be sending out a coffee-based shopping list, and exclusive café-style recipes to my paid subscribers.
This allows me to tailor the information and recipes to what you all ask for, to the time of year, and to spend more time guiding you through the process.
Here’s the plan.
If you are a paid subscriber you will receive…
Two café-style coffee (or tea) recipes per month. These will both cover the basics AND push you to try something new.
Shopping list for the ingredients needed for those recipes.
An exclusive online forum/chat area to discuss these recipes and any other home barista-related questions.
And, this is all for $6/month!
